toxoplasmic scar

toxoplasmic scar

I would like to ask if there is a possibility for a pregnant woman with very old toxoplasmic scars to transmit the disease to her fetus. More specific, i have scars in my both eyes. They are old, I do not know since when, maybe congenital. I have never had any recurrence. They were totally asymptomatic. I am 28 years old and I am trying to become pregnant but I am anxious about it. Is there a conection between pregnancy and relapses for the first time??What should i do during my pregnancy in order to check my baby's health. Thank you in advance.

There is virtually no chance you will pass this to your child and very little chance you will ever have a reoccurence. To keep you child healthy take care of your self and see a good OB physician, see an Eye MD annually. Have your child's eye checked if you notice a problem and if all seems well about age 3
