I was diagnosed about 8 months ago with optic neuritis. I have had mri's,iv treatment, and multiple blood tests.I have been also diagnosed with a pituitary tumor however this condition has nothing to do with my vision loss according to the pituitary specialist I recently seen.I have seen neurologists and neuro-opthamologists and not one has been able to help with my condition nor have they been able to figure out the cause.I have lost peripheal vision in my right eye.I feel off balance at times and have difficulty driving and reading. Is there anyone you can refer me to in the Phoenix area that can help me I cant seem to find anyone that specializes in my condition.Desperate for help.

Have you seen an opthamologist? Maybe Retina Detachment though I guess a neruo-opthamologist would have picked that up.  I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor many years ago (maybe 20) thank the Lord it behaves itself though eye trouble is a big concern.
Do you suffer from anxiety? Overly so that is? Though your symptoms would create a lot of anxiety on its own. I'm hoping my anxiety is causing my current eye problems.
My prayers are with you.

Many cases of optic neuritis are "idiopathic" which means a cause cannot be found. Stay under the ongoing care of a neuro-ophthalmologist. If you are determined to get another opinion you can go to www.aao.org  or you can ask your present Eye MDs for another opinion.
