visual changes

I have worn glasses for many years and my right eye has always had the better vision.  In the past few years, the vision in my right eye has become increasingly blurry, but will sometimes clear for short periods of time.  I've also had visual migraines for 20+ years, but recently had an unusual experience when the vision in my right eye went dark, as if a shade were pulled down part way.  It only lasted a few seconds, but was very different from anything I've ever had before.  Eye exams in the past have not produced any unusual findings, but I'm wondering if I need a second opinion.

Dear 2dogmom,

The complete loss of vision is disconcerting and is considered an ophthalmic emergency.  I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD immediately.  You need to have an ophthalmic and systemic workup.
