visual snow/ migraine aura

visual snow/ migraine aura

Im a 20 yr old female.  I have experienced visual snow my entire life, and through research i have found its linked to persistent migraine aura.  I have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder so i dont know if that has anything to do with it.  The snowiness seems to get worse in the dark, but i notice it all day.  I know there is little research on this topic, but do i need to be concerned about this?  I have just recently gotten my eyes checked out and i have 20/20 vision.  Also, I have developed a blueish color to the whites of my eyes.  my optometrist said it is due to dry eyes and gave me some drops although i have never had dry eyes before.  I have had some more headaches lately, and i have felt disconnected from everything (also a symptom of generalized anxiety).  Sometimes at night it looks like there is a little smoke in front of my eyes as well. I know that visual snow is something to do with the brain but its affecting the eyes so i thought i would give this a try and see what kind of responses i received.  Should I go to an ophthalmologist to get a "thorough" eye exam done? Or are these normal symptoms?  Thanks so much for taking time to help me out.

Likely that eyes are normal but you should see an ophthalmologist for a thorough examination.  They may refer you to a neuro-ophthalmologist if they feel your symptoms warant further investigation and could look at the sclera as sometimes blue colored sclera could imply an underlying problem.
