white spot on eye when taking pictures

My grandaughter is 2 years old, when we take pictures we notice a white spot on one of her eyes.  What does that mean?

It could be so many different things but you have my curiosity going, so it important for you  to take her first to her pediatrician and if anything is really there then he or she can make a referral to a pediatric ophthalmologist.  It could be something like a dermoid, or another type of congenital abnormal  growth.  For me to be more helpful you would have to describe location, size, characteristics and so on, so in order to be safe, I have to recommend you have her see the doctors as I said above.  Usually, not a major problem but please have it checked out.

Dear Iris70,

You should take your granddaughter to an eyeMD to have her eye evaluated immediately. A white reflex rather than the normal red one may indicate a serious eye disease!
