white string eye mucous
I am in problem of having stringy eye mucus and it has been for a year. I tried many different eye drops and antibaiotics drops but didn't help. how can i can get my eyes healthy, please give me an advice that can help me my eyes cure. Help me please.
Read This Immediately!!!!! Hello, my name is Robert S. White, I am 48 years old and I am writing this message to anyone with stringy mucous eyes issues. I fought this battle for a little over 4 years and just thought that this was going to be a part of my life forever. I had gone to so many doctors and all of them kept feeding a line of CRAP, because they had no idea. They just kept saying things like If you keep your fingers out of your eyes it will go away (Eye Fishing Syndrome)…………………..Bullcrap! I wouldn’t have put my fingers in my eyes if there was nothing there! I know you want the answer like right now, but I want to explain what happened, I swear I have nothing to sell or push by the way, this is only information and hopefully something that will help if you suffer from this horrible affliction. So, about 3 months ago, I decided to go to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL., I explained everything to the doctor and he was the only one that told me that I was having an allergic reaction and that I was probably going to have to figure this out myself because the cost of being tested for everything on the planet was just not feasible. So, 3 weeks ago (Today is the 17th of April, 2017)I went on vacation to Universal Studios with my brother and I noticed the day after I arrived that my eyesight improved slightly and wasn’t as irritated as normal, I didn’t think too much about it until the next day when they were even better. After the 4th day, my eyesight was great and I was elated as much the stringy eye goo had dissipated. So, I finished the vacation and got back home and within 2 hours of getting home my eyes were on the fritz, so, I was racking my brain trying to figure out what was different and the only thing that I could come up with was that I remembered that I had forgotten my cologne when I went to Orlando. As an experiment I did not use my cologne (Curve), the next day. What do you know, my eyes got better, after 3 or 4 days my stringy eye goo had slowed tremendously. After a couple of weeks I had expected it to go away completely but I still had some going on, so, I decided to do a little more digging (Pun intended) and started to do research on the ingredients in the Curve cologne, it turns out that there are lots of chemicals in the cologne, one in particular, Propylene Glycol (PPG), seemed to be affecting many other people as well, I got to looking at my other products in my cabinet that I use and what do you know, my hair gel (L.A. Looks), my underarm deodorant (Degree), and many other products that I use have this chemical in it. I have since stopped using any products that have PPG in it which unfortunately makes my life more complicated because these products that do not have PPG’s is more expensive. So, to put all of this in a nutshell, I do not know if this is your problem, but like me it may turn out that you are having an allergic reaction to some product that you are using and it just may be the PPG additive in these products. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I truly hope this will help someone else and may solve your eye mystery. P.S. When I stopped using products with the PPG I also had some other added benefits that I didn’t even know were going to happen, I had a strange rash on my chest that went away (Right where I was spraying the cologne), my joints feel so much better (I was told because I had inflammation from my body trying to fight PPG in my body), I also had excruciating pain in my feet (Also because of the inflammation), if I have helped a single person it will make me feel so happy, Have a nice day.

you sir, have what is called, PINK EYE. What the others in this forum are talking about is something else. I suppose I can only speak for myself here, but I'm quite sure we are all talking about the same thing (except you). My condition is not contagious. I've had it for about 4-5 years now and nobody else has had it. Pink eye, on the other hand, is VERY contagious, so OBVIOUSlY if you have constant pink eye that never goes away, nobody's gonna want to chill with you.

Wow. The number of insane, ignorant comments here astounds me. Mucus fishing syndrome is caused by overactive oil glands in the eyes. The oil glands are there for a good reason - if you get a foreign object in your eye, it secretes a mucus to surround the object so that it doesn't scratch your cornea. But in some people, it secretes too much. This is what mucus fishing syndrome is (I hate the name of it, by the way, it makes it seem like the problem is with the person, rather than with their eyes).
I'm 32 and have had this problem since I was 12, although I didn't understand what it was until about 3 years ago. Restasis eye drops helped quite a bit, but without health insurance they're very expensive. The main ingredient in Restasis is castor oil. You can use castor oil (be sure it's pure, unrefined, cold pressed castor oil - regular drug stores often do not carry this kind, you have to find it online or go to a specialty store like the Vitamin Shoppe). What I do: I wash my hands, put a tiny bit of oil on the tip of my finger, and rub it along the bottom of my eye inside the lid. Some people use a q-tip to apply it, but I don't want to risk scratching my cornea with the harsh cotton bits. I have found this to be very, very helpful. But you have to do it twice a day forever and ever amen. :p It takes a few weeks before you start seeing improvement, and if you stop doing it for even a week, you'll notice higher mucus production again. But it's worth making it a part of your routine!

Okay my daughter is 12 years old. She has had mucus inside her eyelids for a while.( 2-3 years) And no doctor has put in concern about it. She takes allergies drops and eye lubercents. But she fishes every day. She said something in her mind makes it feel like pus is in her eye. Also she digs in way to far and damages her eye. But sometime as she says that her mind tricks her and makes her see clear pus and she goes to get it nothing, but it is also what she is around. The worst part it small dust and extra things can get inside her eye and stick to the pus. She doesn't have pink eye; allergy season is over. She does have chronic dry eyes. Someone please help my baby she can't survive this what doctors should I go to? Anyone else have this issue please respond if ASAP

i have had this problem since the age 14 and i am now 32. it is gross indeed. any doctor whithout this problem will not care or know what to do, so they have become a wast of time. most males believe its because of masterbation, and for some it is, but i am married and have tried this no *** theory. it is far from the truth. honestly iv learned the best thing to do is keep it as far away from your family and friends as possible because it is very contagious. even a small hand shake, or grocery cart, or door knob, or steering wheel, or even a dollar bill can contain the germ. if you are single and are looking to marry, i would advise you understand that there is stronger genes out there that heal themselfs overtime. when i kiss a girl, she will get it. and if she heals naturaly overtime, that means she has a stronger gene. this became very important to me because i did not want to watch my children grow up with the same trouble i had, especialy because of me. some people will get it and NEVER get rid of it. my wife got it a few times over the years and it just went away, the same for my son. i have tried many eye drops, both perscribed by doctors and non perscribed. the most damaging is visine. the most helpfull seems to be Equate lubricating & rewetting drops. these eye drops do not solve the problem, but they sort of gather all the junk and add it together so your able to buy some time. if you do alot of research you will learn that there is this one place that does this one surgury that is only half successfull. so even if you wast thousands of dollars, you can still get it again by coming home and touching something you touched before, or by getting it from someone else.
Regaurding my statement on masterbation, it is also biblical. if you read the book of Job, you will see that his friends were accusing him of masterbation. of course he did not, but they were sure of it. they come at him with very harsh words and he defends himself confirming thier accusations.
this curse has in many ways been a blessing. for example, i have seen many of my friends become infected over the years and right away, thier wife or girlfriend leaves them. they leave because of the shallowness of thier hearts. If your manager at work gets it, it almost makes it impossible for him to function and is soon out the door. it will basicaly cause you to see who your real friends are. the people that never cared about you will quickly dissapear.
After many years, i have no othere choice but to believe God gave it to me for a reason, and God does not remove it from me for a reason. although im most of the time alone, im 100% surrounded by my true friends and family. this germ wil also cause you to see past the flesh. you will start to read body language 1000 times more than you ever did. you will start to read the spirit of a person almost as if to read thier thoughts. you will become less distracted with meaningless things. you will be more appreciative of those who love you. your paths will be far from the proud and concieded. you WILL be humbled.

I just tried this last night... cleanse your entire face with witch hazel including eyelids and under your eye. I could not find castor oil eye drop bottle so I applied the castor oil directly to my eye using a Q-tip in the inner & outter corner of the eye. Then I immediately went to SLEEP (get off the phone, no facebook, twitter, linked in, etc) the messages will be there in the morning.
So far as of today(2/4/2011) I haven't pulled anything from my eye! I felt something in the bottom right eye this morning, but instead of looking for it I moved the eye lid around in a circle and within 5minutes the string was in the inner corner of my eye which I removed with a tissue. That was my only string today :-)) as of 11am 2/4/2011. We shall see...I hope this is a remedy that will work in the long run because I am tired of my Mom yelling at me to get my finger out of my eye. She says people are going to look at you CRAZY. My friends say "Oh girl what's wrong with you, what the heck is that coming out of your eye" I use to think it was normal & funny at their reaction, now I see its not. Its a serious issue that some people experience. The eye doctor perscribed me some drops & the eyelid wash like 4years ago but that NEVER worked. i have the same thing and i feel like my eyes r dry and hurt too. not always but i have alot of problems w them.. let me knw if u find out
You likely have mucus fishing syndrome. Do you use your fingers or Kleenex to remove the mucus?? Look up this problem, and seek the help of an eyeMD. If you can entirely avoid contact with your eye, it should slowly resolve
