will yag surgery help me

I am a 47y/o AAF who has a large brown spot in my eye. It started out pinpoint sized about 25 years ago and has been growing larger every since (at a very slow rate). I have had eye exams which have revealed no problems. I have recently been reading about Yag sugery and am wondering could it help someone like me? I have noticed other very small brown spots in the same eye and in the other eye but they have not gotten any larger. Also, my sister and daughter have the same thing (their spots don't seem to be growing) and my sister was told  by her MD that it was hereditary and that there was nothing that can be done. Is this true?

Wanted to add that in blacks that he conjunctiva (outer layer) of the eye is almost always pigmented and this increases with time, is almost never malignant, and does not respond well to surgical removal.

No Yag laser is NOT used for that purpose on the eye.  Generally benign "freckles" (nevus) of the conjunctiva are not removed.
