worsening astigmatism after cataract surgery.

worsening astigmatism after cataract surgery.

I had cataract surgery done not quite a year ago. A toric lens was placed in the L eye and vision is now great. The R eye only had .25 of astigmatism and a normal lens was placed and vision 20/20 afterwards.
Over the past few months. I have noticed blurring of the vision from the R eye. My optometrist now measures 1.50 of astigmatism in the R eye. Vision corrects to 20/20 with corrective lenses. My question is why does one develop this delayed onset of worsening astigmatism and other than wearing glasses is there anything else recommended other than Lasik or limbal relaxation cuts? I am reluctant to go thru another surgical procedure.
Thanks for any info!

Unusual to change to that degree after routine cataract surgery.  Have the surgeon take a look at the lens to make sure it hasn't moved and is well centered.  Otherwise you may still be able to get away without glasses or surgery for distance and just wear reading glasses.
