zoster of the eye.

zoster of the eye.

since the age of 8 years old i have had herpes zosters in my left eye. recently i got it in my right eye for the first time.  awhile back i was told that i could get a cornea transplant to try to fix the vision in my left eye. ( an out break at age 15 left me almost blind in that eye). at that time i was told there was a 60/40 chance against getting my sight back, and that the operation or meds could cause another outbreak and contaminate the new cornea, and that i would also face the possiblity of rejection.  is it possible to get laser eye surgury to correct this sight problem?

Do you mean herpes simplex?   You can be treated with an antiviral medication which will greatly reduce the chance of a herpes recurrence after a corneal transplant.  You should see a corneal specialist.
