Chance of Pregnancy??

Chance of Pregnancy??

My fiance and I had sex the other night and we used a latex condom.  we also used vaseline on the condom for lubrication. i have since found out that it can deteriorate the condom and can break or causeleakage.  I inspected the condom after sex as i always do and it was intact and all sperm was inside the condom.  The sex only lasted few minutes (less than five) Is there a chance the condom would have been affected from vaseline by then and leaked. should we be concerned about pregnancy. also, it was first day after her period ended. thank you

It is true that Vasoline can cause the condom to weaken.  If the condom did not leak or break, the chances of pregnancy is less likely.  Condoms, when used appropriately, have a contraception rate above 98% - this will decrease if the condom has been damaged in some way.  Obtaining a pregnancy test is the only way to know for sure.

so had it leaked it would have been obvious i assume?  how long does it take for the vaseline to take effect on the latex? since the sex only lasted about 5 minutes or less i think it was safe.
