Coxsachie Virus

Coxsachie Virus

My grandson who is 2-1/2 was diagnosed with coxsackie virus - sores in his mouth, after being treated with antibiotics for strep throat.  After the throat cleared, vomiting started from the antibiotics.  That problems solved. Now coxsackie hit, he goes to daycare.  Coxsachie went away for 2 days and now has reappeared.  He has lost 4 pounds, and is refusing to eat again, even "ice cream" !!!  He also is not taking in a lot of fluids and the doctors are now hearing a heart murmur.  We are besides ourselves and are considering taking him to a childrens hospital.  Note; is has been a bit crankie but is not laying around, he does run a low fever at night.  Please what is your advise.  He does have an appointment with a cardiologist later on in the week.

if he's not taking in fluids he could get dehydrated.

you can measure this from the number of wet diapers he has (i'll bet he isn't potty trained yet)  if decreased compared to normal, ask his doctor what to do
