Disease transmission & Allergies from washers & dryers

Hi,

This question seems wierd, but is there a chance of disease transmission (skin diseases & other communicable) when using common washers & dryers.

Can I use washers & dryers where bathroom mats, bathroom towels are used ? I ask because I see lot of hair getting collected with the laundry when using those dryers. Does this hair allergic or cause transmission...(not to my knowledge). Are there any filters to avoid hair, dust getting collected.

What if I do not use bleach while washing?

I have a 2 yr old, so I started getting concerned than I used to be...

Many thanks
Slint

Depending on how clean the washer and dryer is, there is always a chance of infection and allergen exposure.

I am not aware of specific filters that are used in washers that would reduce allergens, although you may want to discuss this with an allergy specialist.

Using bleach would reduce the risk of bacterial transmission.
