Muscle relaxant overuse

"If a person was on muscle relaxants while their muscles were healing from sever trauma, for about three weeks, could the new muscle fibers that healed under the influence of the muscle relaxant be shorter than the original length.  This resulting in the person having to take muscle relaxants for the rest of their lives to be comfortable?

I have never heard of muscle relaxants causing shortening of new muscle fibers, and can find no information to suggest it.
Some muscle relaxants do have a potential for abuse, so this could cause of increased discomfort when they are discontinued,
