Ovary pelvic pain

Ovary pelvic pain

My periods are usually regular, not much pain.  My last period was very heavy and long.  Then I had no period this month.  Very unusual for me.  And the pelvic and ovary pain is intense.  I wondered what could cause this so suddenly?
I have not been to a doctor yet and am due for a yearly checkup soon.  I am scrambling for some health insurance and hoping this is not serious.  I can't imagine a pregnancy being this painfull, so I suspect something else is wrong?  If it might be a pregnancy gone wrong, would it show on a home test?  What pain killers can I take?  It takes a month or two to get in to see my doctor.  I wonder if I can get in earlier to an OBGYN?
Can a doctor answer these questions?

I would suggest seeing a physician for examination.

Ovarian cysts, cancer, or endometriosis are all possible.

Initial studies can be done with a transvaginal ultrasound as well as a pelvic CT scan.  I definitely would recommend a pregancy test.

I cannot suggest specific pain killers without examination.

If the pain continues, I suggest an emergency room evaluation.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
