Peace of mind, opinions

I am a female, 67 years of age. I have had an intermittment discharge of sorts for many years.  And no sexual involment for over 25 years.   No, I haven't seen a doc and nothing changed in all these years.(with the discharge)  I've never taken hormone replacement, never been on birth control and had one child by caeserean, 32 years ago. I take HCTZ, Synthroid for low thryroid for over 10 years now, just started on 10mg of Crestor, Chol. was a little high about 2 months ago.   Am in  relatively good health EXCEPT for overweight and I'm on WWatchers, doing well. Last night, I had mild pain between the belly button going downward (is this "pelvic"?) It came and went away. When I got up this morning, there was a very slight spot of blood ( I use a pad, so I could see this ) So far, today, no blood. I am TOO investigative, and got on Google and have myself all upset. The first thing I think of is the big "C"...I know you can't "diagnose" over a computer, but looking for some thoughts on this. Yes, I've been one of those people only going to the doc for "general things", flu, arthritis,  fell a few times and got hurt, and that's about it. Oh, I just had a complete profile in June, 2007,  and all looked good, kidneys, liver, only little high cholest. and she reduced the synthroid as I was being overmedicated and put me on the Crestor.  Thank you for any thoughts and God Bless.

I think that this should be evaluated by a gynecologist.

Various types of infection can lead to discharge, including vaginosis and STDs.  A pelvic exam should be done to exclude these possibilities.

Regarding the pain, a pelvic ultrasound should be done to evaluate the ovaries.

If there is bleeding,  I would consider a PAP smear as well as endometrial biopsy to rule out cancer.

These options should be discussed with your gynecologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
