Pregnancy : Progesterone and other questions.

My wife is 35 ys old and 8 weeks pregnant.
We have been regular visits to the gynaecologist and she have been undergoing daily injections of 200mg of progesterone.

Ultrasound scan reveals that the fetus is growing and has a heartbeat.

Since then, she has been repeated incidents of heartburn, nausea and pain (most notably from injections).

We have some questions:-
1. The last measurement of the fetus stands at 10mm. Is this a normal size given 7 weeks? If not, what should be the average size be?

2. Is the continued injections of 200mg progesterone required?
At the visit, the blood test results show her progesterone levels were at 35.
The doctor indicated it should stay above 100.
She is also taking vaginal creams to supplement the treatment.

3. Are there any alternatives to taking progesterone other than injection and cream insertion? We were told that the absorption rate is far superior via injections but also more painful.
Are there orally injested types?

4. Any food types she should avoid? (e.g. seafood)

5. Lastly, is progesterone needed to start with? Again, we were told it help prevents bleeding but don't know more than that. Other GPs we've visited do not know much either.
Is this a sign of potential miscarriage?
