Shoulder Problem

About 3 weeks ago, I noticed a "click" in my left shoulder. I started exercising on weights (under the supervision of a trainer-one week before this). I have been going to a very good chiropractor who last time told me my left shoulder was higher than my right. He had me stand before a mirror. He then put me on the table and pressed on my hamstring tendon?? (left side) and told me my latissumus dorsi was "off" and he performed some procedures. I felt better for about four days; but not improved now. I can move my shoulder completely without pain. The click occurs when I am typing at my computer (like now) and I barely lift my elbow up a bit. You can hear a "clicking" My arm has also been warm off and on which I have put on Biofreeze (counterirritant). My massage therapist says not to worry but I have what is called  a "tendon flip" where the tendon does not stay in the groove of the muscle. Again no pain and no visual problems. But I don't feel this is normal and want to know when this will heal. I  have NOT been taking Ibuprofen etc Can you advise or help me??

Imaging the shoulder can be considered at this time.  This can be done with either an MRI and/or plain film.  Structural damage or ligament tears should be ruled out, as well as bony abnormalities.

Treatment would depend on what is causing the discomfort.  This can range from anti-inflammatory medications to physical therapy to surgery.

I would suggest an orthopedic referral at this time.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I think I dislocated my sterno-clavicular joint anteriorly about 7 weeks ago now.  I exercised vigorously at the time with moving my shoulders in all different directions and push ups. After that I had some aches and pain all over my body and especially on right sided neck area, which I thought was normal after vigorous exercise, so i didn't pay attention.

However, a couple of days later, on mirror, I saw slight elevation of my right clavicle on the sternal border. I have full range of motion at the shoulder and no pain. However, some slight discomfort.

I am concerned for one, I stopped exercising (which means a lot to me) and I dont' know how unstable it is.  And, third is a deformity, its visible that one clavicle is elevated from the other.

I did some research about, it which showed that some physicians might consider closed reduction.

What is the best way to approach this. your ideas will be helpful for my concerns mentioned above.

Thanks
Trish
