Swollen Glands

I have swollen glands on the left side of my neck.   I also have a very bad"stuffed" nose, achy, and chills.   Sometimes I can blow my nose, other times, I am so "stuffed-up" that I can't do that.   Also, sometimes, my nose starts "running."   Is the swollen glaaands part of it, and what do I do for it?   Is there any alternaytive medicine for it; such as from the "Health Food" store, since I have alot of stomach trouble, and it's hard for me to take many medicines.  Please answer ASAP.   Thank You.   Yours Truly, Carol

Swollen glands can be due to the infection you are experiencing.

Normally with the resolution of the infection, the swollen glands should decrease.

You should discuss with your physician whether antibiotics are necessary.

If the swollen glands persist despite proper treatment of the infection, you may want to consider a referral to an ENT physician to ensure it isn't anything more serious, like lymphoma or other cancers.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
