Thyroid and Parathyroid concerns

Thyroid and Parathyroid concerns

I am 29 years old.  Married and yearning for children.  My thyroid was removed in 2001.  In removing my thyroid, my parathyroids were injured.  I am now diagnosed with hypothyroid and hypoparathyroid.  I am currently taking rocaltrol .5mg 2x daily and synthroid200mcg 1 1/2 tabs once daily.
Would it be possible and safe for my husband and I to try to have childre?  Would our baby be born healthy and would there be long term health concerns for me?
My husband and I received the go ahead from our obgyn, we've been trying for eight months.  My obgyn suggested a HSG (mine was normal) I did find out that my uterus is retroverted and tilted to the right, but a normal HSG with good spill.  My husband received a normal sperm count in his specimen.  However I found out from my internest that my TSH is zero.
what do i do?  where do I go? can you recommend a very good endocrinologist in Missouri? HEEEELLLP!

Hypothyroidism and hypoparathyroidism should not be contraindications to having children as long as it is monitored by your physician.  Again, if these conditions are controlled, there should not be adverse effects for the baby.

A TSH of zero suggests (paradoxically) that the thyroid function elevated (i.e. hyperthyroid).  You may want to discuss whether the synthroid dose for you needs to be modified.
