bottom of left ribcage protrudes out in back

I am 14 wks pregnant and noticed last week that if I bend forward the bottom rib on the left side sticks out almost like a lump but if I straighten up it is more prominent but doesn't stick out..I asked my doctor and he said it was my rib and he wasn't sure why it stuck out..I was told when I was in junior high I had mild scoliosis could this be worsening? or is this something related to my pregnancy? last is this concerning at all? my docotor basically blew me off but I am concerned because I never noticed it before..

As surgeon has mentioned in his comments below, there is a possibility of increased laxity of the ligaments.  If there is further concern, you can consider an X-ray or a second physician opinion for further evaluation.  An orthopedic referral can be considered.

during pregnacy there are changes that make ligaments more lax, in preparation for the baby heading south. I'd say that if there's not pain associated, it's not likely significant, and you could wait until after the pregnancy is over to see if it returns to normal; especially since your doctor examined it and thought it was ok.
