chemical preg?

chemical preg?

Hi-- Where to begin...
In July my period was several days late; almost a week. I took an early pregnancy test and it came back positive, followed by another positive. Both were very faint, but the result line had pink color like the control line does. I could see the result wasnt a ''shadow'' line because I have been pregnant before, three years ago and had an abortion on the last day of my first trimester. The lines from my pregnancy tests three years ago were a little darker, but really  not much. Two days after the faint positives in july-- at 8 days of a missed monthly i got a period.
In August the same thing happened nearly exactly how it did the month before, except I got three positives and my period came at 6 days late instead of 8. And again, i bled alot with many clots(some large) and pain worse than a normal period.
And, again this month(I am at 9DPO now on 9/1/07) I am having the enlarged breasts and can only wonder if this month it will happen as it did the two previous.
I am an eight year smoker and Im activley trying to quit-- at this point Im reducing the ciggarettes greatly. When it was about 8 DPO on the last two months, my breasts would enlarge over about a four day period where they got huge(way beyond the heavy, pre menstral boobs ) and start to hurt exactly like when i was pregnant three years ago. I am starting to worry something is wrong with me. I havent seen a doctor since april. With this info I have a few questions:
1. Do you think these are multiple early or chemical pregnancies?
2. Could having the abortion have caused scarring? If so how can they tell?
3. Could this be due to smoking? (the first month i smoked a pack a day, second month a little  less, this month hoping to really kick the habit)
4.Does this sound like a clotting or immune disorder? I have no problem concieving, just staying pregnant.
Thanks much for the help,
feel like ripping my hair out

It is difficult to answer these questions without examining you or your personal record.

1) Pregnancy is possible.  Obtaining a blood test for the HCG level can confirm the diagnosis.

2) Scarring is also possible.  Imaging the pelvic area with an ultrasound can be done, as well as a hysteroscopy.

3) Smoking is associated with miscarriage.  I would certainly advise quitting.

4) A clotting disorder can be considered.  Blood tests looking for the blood count, as well as a panel of tests to evaluate a hypercoagulable state can be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with a hematologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
