lower back pain

lower back pain

Hi, I have been having mild pain in my lower back for about 3 weeks now.  I have noticed a lump about 3 inches above my tailbone, maybe 2 inches to the right of my spine.  I also have some occasional very mild tingling in my legs and feet.  What would this lump be and could it be causing the mild tingling?  I also noticed a feeling of needing to urinate more often, could this all be related?  Thank you for your information

Difficult to say without examination.

If the lump is superficial, it can be a lipoma or fatty tissue deposit.

If the lip is deeper, it is possible it can cause some nerve compression leading to some of the symptoms you have.

I would have this evaluated by a physician.  The back pain and neurologic symptoms can be evaluated with a back MRI.

The lump can be further imaged with a CT scan.

You can consider an evaluation by a neurologist to look at your symptoms further.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

hello i am not a doctor however i have have a problem with lower bAck however i dont have a lump. My pain has been for over one year. I went for ct scan and MRI and they found out that mine was two buldging discs. this sends numbness in my buttocks as well deferred pain down my legs as well at times it has been so bad as pins and needles i tried much to be rid of this problem tried physio and cyropractic sorry about the spelling not a good speller any hows the problem is to be seen by a surgeon to see well it is oprable and weather i want to persue the operation due to where the damage is. I really dont want the chance of not walking again but i dont mean to scare you. for me i cannot be in one position long sitting standing laying walking so its made it difficult for me to work at a job in an office/ or any other. I hope this is not your problem cause its a long processes in my experience i have been going on well over one year with this problem about i would say april of last year i was on basic bed rest just sitting and laying and having some one wait on me and this seemed to help me alot. The thing i noticed is u must pay close attention to when you begin to feel the pain then change ur position right aways so it dont get to the point of pins and needles and numbness. oh also i also had the pain go through the hip into my groan area causeing pain for a short time i did try narcotic drugs it was the only thing that eased my pain so i could rest. I hope you get some results with your problem. I wish you the best with this problem i know what ur going through
