Bruises that last

by honey102170, Aug 30, 2009 08:54PM
playing with my husband i piched his arm...later that night a bruise came up. (I kinda pinch too hard) A week later I notice he still has a bruise where I pinched him. I haven't ever had a bruise last so long, (not over something like a pinch) Should I be concerned, Is this a sign of something maybe more serious?

Hi Honey~I doubt if it is anything serious, you just may have pinched harder than you realized, and it could have been near a blood vessel causing it to become a hematoma (blood tumor) these are usually benign. I would keep watching it and if it gets bigger or worse, then ask your doctor or nurse what you should do.

Good luck
Susie

Oh, since he seems to bruise easily, I would have him take extra vitamin C daily and also bio-flavonoids, these will keep the blood vessels and arteries stronger and prevent further bruising.
