Canker Sores

by momneedshelp3, Oct 18, 2008 05:47PM
I get canker sores often.  They are always on the left side of my tongue almost in the exact same spot.  The unusual part is when I feel a sore coming someone around me gets sick.  It usually happens within a a few days. I noticed this last year.  I'd get a canker sore and within days one of my children would get strep throat or tonsilitis.  Then a friend of mine, who I work with, started getting strep throat around that time as well.  My throat is very rarely sore, my only complaint is the left side of my tongue swells up and gets an ulcer or canker sore.  Has anyone every heard of this  coincidence or does my tongue think it's a tonsil???

Ouch that really hurts.  I get those sores on my tongue, too, but mine is from allergic reaction and/or if the tongue rubs up against a sharp part of a tooth that needs tending to, etc.  Usually canker sores on the gums are viral in nature, etc.or from the teeth biting or nipping the tongue.  But ask your doc for sure in case you are a carrier of strep or something like that?  It's a good ? and wanted to answer.

Maybe try searching the MedHelp archives or Health Topics for similar answers. There is a wealth of info here at MedHelp.
