Did I have mono?

by PenPens, Jul 25, 2009 12:07PM
My doctor was very limited with his information. He told me that my white blood cell count was high and that I tested positive for EBV. My symptoms included fatigue, fever of 101.3 F, swollen tonsils, and body aches. In the past, I've been diagnosed with tonsillitis twice, bronchitis twice, and strep throat once. For this time, he said I had a bacterial infection, no specifics. I researched EBV, and mono seems to describe my symptoms perfectly. Was the infection I had mono?

It could be mono but it could also be either chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia, both of these can copy mono and the EBV can be elevated.
