My throat is very sore and swollen, it is painful to swallow and the glands under my jaw are sensitive.
This all came on very rapidly, the first morning I felt a little unwell, felt like I was getting a cold by lunch and had the above symptoms by tea.
The doctor has prescribed a week's course of penicillin, and I am taking Paracetamol and ibuprofen which seem to reduce the chills. But the symptoms aren't reducing.
I am just a little worried it could be something more severe? We live in the UK and have a dog, which we take for walks in a wood with deer in it, I got back from a holiday in Morocco two weeks ago, and I had blocked ears which I have been (a little over zealously) poring lots of ear drops (Otex) into. Other than that I cant seem to see what else could have caused it?
I have been in good health most of my life, the only issue I have had was a bout of depression a few year ago.
