Drug Tests

I have a question, my boyfriend is on probation and is doing very well. He hasn't smoked for 4 months almost. Last week was his 21st birthday and his parents rented a beach house for him. His friends came over and they were hanging out. Well during that time they decided they wanted to smoke these bowls that they had of marijuana. He and I didn't smoke because I want to give him support while he can't and we are having a baby so we are trying to change our life. But they smoked around us.

Today he went to probation and they said he had a very faint second line but let it slide for some reason. Next time they are going to give him a hair test, will he fail it?? They know the last time he tested dirty on a urine test but since he was around smoke will he fail the hair test?? I don't understand I thought you had to smoke for you to be dirty, I am so confused. We have been around alot of people who smoke before and never had a problem.

I think the hair test can tell approx. how long ago he smoked/exposed himself to the stuff. I am not really sure. I do know it take 45 days to get out of your system
