Hi,
Thanks for your time and expertise.
An echo run in the second trimester of my third pregnancy showed mild to moderate insufficiency in the
aorticAbdominal aortic aneurysm
Aortic aneurysm
Aortic angiography
Aortic arch syndrome
Aortic dissection
Aortic insufficiency
Aortic rupture, chest x-ray
Aortic stenosis
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Thoracic aortic aneurysm,
mitralMitral regurgitation - chronic
Mitral stenosis
Mitral valve prolapse and
tricuspidTricuspid atresia valvesHeart valves
Heart valves - anterior view
Heart valves - superior view. (I had been experiencing angina-like symptoms and irregular
heartbeatsHeart palpitations
Ultrasound, normal fetus - heartbeat
Ultrasound, ventricular septal defect - heartbeat). By the end of my third trimester, I felt worse than I ever had in my life -- breathing difficulties, etc.
During Labor, my BP kept dropping below 80/40. The doctor prescribed
EpinephrineEpinephrine
Epinephrine bitartrate
Epinephrine hydrochloride
Epinephrine ophthalmic
Epinephrine-articaine, both via shots in my hip and the drip. (I had an Epidural). I haven't shared the "episode" with my cardiologist yet, and am wondering if I should. What could cause the continual drop in BP? I thought BP went up during Labor?
During my 3-day stay in the hospital my BP was continually low, as was my heartrate -- 30's and 40's. At one point, the nurse actually asked if I had a Will and whether I was an organ donor. (I had fainted after standing up; she said my lips had turned white).
I'm a thin, otherwise fit 36 year old but wondering if I should be more agressive about my cardio care, tests, etc.
The happy news is that I delivered a healthy 7 lb. boy!
Thanks,
KKG
Thanks,
