Heart Problem

by gigi898, Jul 05, 2009 11:21AM
Hello,I'm very worried since I've been to many hospitals and doctors.  About a couple of months
I experienced labyrinthitis for 1 month , however right after that I felt my heart literally stop and my body was going,my husband rushed me to the ER all they did was monitor my heart and gave me ativan. I was trying to tell them my heart stopped and no one believed me.  After that episode I had many episodes to the point where I couldn't see any longer, the ambulance came and they sent me to a hospital where they deal with anxieties and kept me there for 3 months. I would cry alot and ask for help. I continually told them that my heart was stopping and I was dying. We have done about 8 hospitals all they did was a cardiogram.  What's happened now is that I feel my pulse low in my thorax and throat area. I have seen a naturopath and he saw the same thing and asked if I had a tramatic event. It's been about a couple of months that I'm off work and cannot live a normal life. I'm also feeling my muscle mass very flabby. I'm very scared. I'm going to a private clinic so they can evaluate my condition.
Can you respond.

Thanking you in advance
Gigi

It sounds to me like you are experiencing PVC/PAC's, these are irregular heart rhythms that feel at times like your heart is stopping; however, it is not, it is just a long pause before it starts up again, and that feeling can make you feel like the heart is stopping. I have them and they scare me to no end. They can be brought on by anxiety and stress and the more you worry about them and the feelings, the worse they can become. I think the reason you are noticing different feelings in your throat and such is because you are so scared now and every little "pain or feeling" is felt. Have you seen a good, cardiologist? They should do an echocardiogram on you to make sure your heart is structurally normal and also have you wear an event monitor. This is a little "walk-man" type box that attachés to your belt or pants, and there are also leads they place on your chest, I call it a walking EKG. This will let the tech know just what is going on when you experience these symptoms.

I hope this helps. I am also a member of the heart rhythm community, I would post your question there as well, there are many knowledgeable folks there that might offer other ideas as well.
