Knot in armpit.

I know that under your arm is considered part of your breast. I found a rather big, maybe the size of a golf ball, knot under my left armpit. I found it maybe about 8 months ago and it's still there. It has never bothered me until today, I woke up and it was sore. Is this something I should be worried about?

yes. there are lymph nodes there. If it swells for a short period of time it's likely due to fighting off an infection... if it remains swollen and tender then it's reason to believe it's something more. Go to the dr. very soon!
