Lump on the back of baby's head

Hi!
I have a 6 month old baby girl. She has about 1 cm lump on the bach of her head (lower part), approx. 4 cm from her right ear. I have known this lump since she was 2.5 month old and according to my GP it is one of her glands. It has been 3.5 month and why the lump is still there? Is this Lymph glands node or something else??

I HAVE A THREE WK OLD LITTLE GIRL AND JUST YESTURDAY NOTICED A SMALL LUMP ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HER HEAD. IT IS UNDER THE SKIN AND SOFT NOT HARD.I TOOK HER TO THE HOSPITAL LAST NIGHT AND THE ER DOC...SAYS IT MAY BE A A CYSTS AND MAY NEED TO BE CUT OPEN..I AM NOT OKAY WITH THAT BUT DO I HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS?
