My son has a ganglion cyst...

My 17yo son has a ganglion cyst that has been aspirated twice. Each time it comes back quickly...within a week or so. The cyst is causing him pain and immobility of his wrist. Should we consider having this surgically removed? We were told that an injury may have caused the cyst. Is there a chance that the injury still exists? He had an xray but not MRI. Should this be an option as well?

my sister had 2 of them on 2 different fingers. she had them surgically removed and had no problems with them coming back. they can be long and have fingers like things on them wrapping around his wrist so i think he would be much better off having them competelly removed. take care. Remar
