Night sweats

by Samantha664, Feb 01, 2009 08:35PM
I am a 25 year old female.  I eat healthy as well as run an average of 25 miles per week.  A few days ago, I woke up in the middle of the night completely drenched in sweat and shaking.  The room I was in was well below room temperature and I have no fever.  I am a little more tired than usual but not excessively fatigued.  I take vitamins but no medication.  Is it normal to have occasional incidences of extreme night sweats?  Or is this an indication of a serious   underlying medical condition that needs to be professionally diagnosed?
