Oral thrush or something else?

by bryonychalloner, Aug 02, 2009 09:18PM
I wish i might have oral thrush, for months i have had cream coloured "spots" on the sides of my tongue which bleed when i try and bite then off (yes i know i shouldn't) or if i try too brush them off, sometimes they turn yellow but i think that's to do with food making them turn that colour, they also join together if i don't scrape them off and look like just patches. It started with one little section and has spread to both sides of my tongue, i used a thrush treatment which cleared it for maybe 2 days but it came straight back, i use steroid inhalers for asthma but not regulary so i can't see that being the course and as far as i know i don't have any other health problems. I've tried eating yoghurt, cutting out suger, brushing teeth for often etc. but nothing seems to work! Does this sound like thrush or something else? What can i do about it and why isn't it clearing up? Thanks.

This does not sound good, please see a dentist and get this cleared up. You sure don't want it to develope into an infection.

I get it from steroid inhalers. If it hurts too it probably is. If it happens a lot try a different steroid. Always use a spacer. Always rinse after.
