Ovulation after missed period?

I am 2 weeks late on my period, but my urine tests and blood test say I am not pregnant. The doctor says my cycle might have been altered due to stress, hoping to be pregnant, etc and it should come soon or he can give me estrogen to bring it on. I have been feeling small cramps and breast tenderness hoping its nay day now. I am wondering if I will still ovulate around the same time as usual or does the cycle now get pushed back due to my late period (assuming I get it soon). Any insight why I have not gotton my period (with negative pregnancy tests) and regarding ovulation would be great.
