Pain In Rib Area

Hi, My question is about pain I have in the right rib area...it's not at my waist line...but I believe it is above the kidney area...kinda hard to describe the area...but I have uncomfortable pain...it's not sharp pains...but almost like spasms. If I were having a kidney infection...I would have symptoms that go along with that and I don't...It was suggested possibly liver...but I don't have that type of symptoms...Daughter thinks it may be muscle spasms...but have had it for a couple of weeks....my job is mainly sedentary...I do have bouts of bowel problems...have had gallbladder surgery many years ago...and have always had trouble sense that surgery...constipation and diarrhea...again the pain is in the rib cage area...just slightly back from side...
