I have been to 6 different doctors to find the problem until one day I went to a new doctor and she said to me you should have neck and pain in the eyes. Sent me for an MRI here is my problem. It started 3 years ago pain in the eyes like someone had a knife I wanted to pull my eyes out of the sockets and the nose was burning. I had pain in my head like a burning right across the top of my head like a head band started 2 times a month then 2 week then 4 to 5 days a week NO doctor EVER listen to what I said. I knew it was comming from the neck but no one ever told me that, So 3 years later I know have someone to tell me what the problem is
At C5-6 there is a concentric disk bulge w/ supperimposed more focal small left paracentral disk herniation. Mild flattening and deformity of the ventral surface of the cervical cord on the left
At C6-7 there is a concentric disk bulge which abuts the ventral surface of the cord there is bilateral C6-7 nural foraminal narrowing.
Is this the cause of the facial pain and numbness I am now at a point that I only walk to the kitchen and my head and arms are so numb I have trouble washing my hair the numbness is in the cheeks and the head sometimes spots are numb other times the headband, the jaw What is the main problem and do I need surgery to fix the problem, or will it get better by itself. I was 17 when I had my first surgery for L4,L5,L6 I have always had problems with my back and neck 3 for my back never the neck. Please give me some help in understanding what all this is about I just thought I was starting to feel better I have had several other surgery in between. I am not overweight 129 5'6 45 years old and work out every day about a half hour to keep my back strong and every time I start to feel better and ready to move on I get hit in the head (ok not in the head) with another setback. Please let me know what to do and how long will I be out of work. I know it is getting the best of me. Thanks for anything you can help me with I have an appointment with the neurosurgery tomorrow and want to know what he is talking about. Thnaks so much Donna

Tough to comment on surgery without examination and reviewing the films. However, it is certainly possible that the disc bulging can lead to the symptoms you are experiencing. At this time, if conservative measures (i.e. physical therapy) isn't helping, it may be worth getting evaluated by a neurosurgeon to see if surgery to correct the cervical discs would be helpful.

What does the MRI read to you does it read a problem with a bulge disk that could lead to problems. Thanks
