Pleural thickening

by GARDENMAN, Apr 17, 2009 11:28AM
recently dx with asbestosis lung disease a CT scan showed pleural thickening.
i was told by my primary MD to immediate get an ombudsman I would need all the help I could get and someone was to go with me to see a pulmonologist because the findings were not good.  the MD then called back 1 weeks later and said that she didnt feel it necessary for me to see a pulmonologist yet VA doesnt do anything with asbestosis until it is interstitual and mine was just on the outter plueral lung surface.
has anyone out there had this experience? I already have gotten with my VA ombudsmen the doctor set that up the next day.   I am very short of breath , I have had chest pain for a yr now  and they can't trace the cause and losing wtg
it worries me they are covering up so I cant file for the disability from VA.  I had 10yrs of asbestos work for the Navy and was boiler room worker for 18yrs for the Navy.
Thanks
