Severe chest and body pain when sneezing

by TeiyaRenee, Oct 03, 2009 03:03AM
Hi, I really need help on this

Since the construction began on our apartment building roof I have been getting some allergy symptoms with sneezing and stuffiness. I can deal with that, but the last two days whenever I sneeze it is very violent and it is immediately followed by a very sharp pain in my chest that has me grounded and can't move. The pain lingers and spreads to my neck, back and down my spine. Sometimes the pain actually travels down my shoulders/arms and the whole arm feels like its deeply bruised with a constant throb of pain and then sort of numb next several minutes. There is nothing that seems to relieve the pain, I just have to ride it out and it leaves me exhausted with my heart and head pounding.

Before anyone assumes I just can't take a little pain, you have it wrong, this pain is severe (like someone just punched me in the chest) and I really want to know if anyone has any information or clues to what might be causing it. I have never sneezed this hard in my life, it would be funny if it didn't hurt like someone was trying to crush me.

one last thing, coughing wasn't an issue until just the last hour. Now when I cough, I get the same chest pain, but less severe. The reason I am asking online instead of going to the doctor's office is because I do not have insurance. The only free clinic might take a week or more to get an appointment.
