Sudden Pain

by tia63, Dec 19, 2007 06:18PM
My sister was recently diagnosed with a sinus and kidney infection, she was given a shot in the buttocks and some antibiotics.  the next day she experienced pain but thought it would go a way.  the following day she was unable to walk, sit or lie down without severe pain in her right leg and groin.  The pain is constant and severe.  The doctor has given her pain killers which do not touch the pain, she has also tried heating pads.  Is it possible that some type of damage was done by the shot she received and how can one tell.  Could the kidney infection cause this type of problem?
What type of diagnostic tests should be done?  Thank you.
