My 16 month old son will not take his liquid vitamin. Is there any alternative? I was going to get him the chewable Flinstone vitamin to see how he did with that, but the it's for ages 2 and up...Can I give him half of one?

You could give him half of a vitamin but I would crush it up and mix it with his food.
Have you tried putting his liquid vitamins in his bottle or sippy cup with milk or juice? Take care. Remar

I was reading on the back of the flinstone's vitamins bottle at the market yesterday and it says ages 2-3 should have half a tablet. So I guess I'd give my son a 1/4.

I have tried to hide his liquid vitamin in things, but the taste and scent of the vitamin is too strong.

I'm just going to call the pediatrician.

Thank you for your input.

The question should be whether a 16 month old who is being fed a good diet even requires a vitamin supplement.  Vitamins are the "flavor of the month" and companies spend tremendous amounts of money to promote the idea that every child needs them.  The human race has been able to survive for a long time without these supplements. There is often a biological reason why a child will refuse a specific medication. Sometimes it is because of the colored dye used in the vitamins. As long as the child is eating well-balanced nutritious meals, I would not be concerned.

My little picky eater definitely doesn't have well-balanced meals. That is why I'm looking for a vitamin for him.

Thank you for your input.
