I just read something similar to this in one of my health journals. It sounds to me like it could be a hiatal hernia. I know that sounds ridiculous, but, one of the symptoms of it, besides acid reflux is your throat cutting off or feeling like there is a ledge. You see, the hiatal hernia can push up through the diaphragm, and when this happens, all the internal organs can push up and sometimes this can cause the blockage in the throat. Hiatal hernias are notorious for causing heart-like chest pains too, of course GERD and acid reflux are common with them. I would have this checked out and see if this is the case or if there is some other underlying cause.
Please keep us posted.
