I have had the same thing going on for 6 months now... I have been to 2 GYN probably 10 times in the last 6 months and neither of them know... I have had tests done for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, herpes, hpv, Trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, yeast (candida). Everything comes back negative. I have been treated for both yeast and bv even though my tests came back negative. Both treatments helped temporarily. I have had every cream you can possibly think of down there. I finally quit using everything so I could see what is really going on. It seems like the week before my cycle and during my cycle I am ok, but the rest of the month, I am a mess. I will swell up at time, burn itch. I way finally put on nerontin to help kill the nerve endings to help with the pain. All it really does is help me sleep really well. I notice that anything with a high PH, especially coffee and alcohol, irritate it. My discharge doesn't smell or isn't off color, but seems to me thicker and clumpier than before and certain times of the month. I am 32 years old and they say I have a slightly prolapsed uterus. The discharge with in the vagina usually is reabsorbed, but since mine is down lower it's not... the doctor told me to wear a tampon around the clock and change it like 4 times a day. It seems to help, but the tampon is irritating. Not only do have the discharge, put the area around the vaginal opening, especially the perinium area is extremely sensitive to touch. They are thinking vulvadynia, which is not an STD and they don't know why it comes on. It can last a lifetime or leave as quickly as it came on. I am at my wits end. I just want to be normal again.
So I got a phone call today that my blood work is back and I have polycystic ovaries... I am to fast after midnight on Monday and go in at 8:30 am to do a glucose, insulin resistance test. I will have to be there for 3 hours getting blood redrawn every hour for three hours. At least they have wireless there... I am not sure that the diagnosis makes sense since I do have and always have had regular periods. I have no abnormal hair growth... it's just very odd to me. The nurse on the phone couldn't really tell me much or how they got this from blood work. I will go in on Tuesday and have the bloodwork done and ask questions then.
