bleeding during sex

im 46 and still very regular with my period. This year I have had bleeding during sex, heavy bleeding, this happens about 15 days before my next period. Closer I get to my next period, its almost a for sure thing. I am now not as active as I was. Also lately I have had spotting once a week, just a small amount. No pain during sex, no cramps. I went and got an ultrasound on my pelvis and the tech told me my uterus was very thick. 2cm. I have to wait for the results for about 10 days on my pap and other things I got done today. I just cant wait. can you give me an insight on this?
