cyst on the scalp

I had an excision by the Public hosp on my scalp last three weeks for very small cyst.
Got 7 stitches from it,
The strange part is ,,Later after a week I observed the cut (to remove the cyst) was on the side of the lump ,,the question is,, why it is not on top of the lump itself ??
Also,,, I feel and see the lump still there?? Did the Doc make a mistake and made the wrong cut and didn't remove the csyt at all??
Please if any one can comment about this ,,I would apreciate the infor,,
