hcg levels

by cami825, Mar 28, 2008 07:04AM
i am almost 7 weeks pregnant and since about week 5 i have been spotting. at first it was a rust color and now its bright red. not a lot, i am concerned simply because its going on two weeks now. i've had 4 blood tests done and my hch levels are rising. right now it's at 6,366. i was sent to the ER to have an ultrasound and there is evidence of a prenancy i was told, in my uterus but was too soon to hear a heartbeat. i am scheduled for another u/s next week. my cervix is closed, but again i'm worried about the constant spotting. am i going to lose the baby? i'm sure this can't be normal and i'm terribly worried since i had a miscarriage 2 years ago. i do have endometriosis however the thickening on my uterus is still quite small. could this be what's causing the spotting? please help!

Hi!  I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely know what you are going through....I have had 3 miscarriages....and FINALLY a successful pregnancy!  I was worried throughout the whole thing.  Let me tell you this though....if your HCG levels are rising that is absolutely encouraging.  Also...the fact that your cervix is closed is great!  Some women do spot all throughout their pregnancies.  I know I had a normal period when I was 1.5 months pregnant...thats why I didn't even know I was pregnant!  :)

Let me know what you find out!  I am sure everything will turn out okay!

thanks for your encouraging words! that is really what i needed. and i am excited to say that i have not had any spotting for the last 3 days! its always nice to know that you aren't alone when you go through things that are kind of scary. i wonder why that kind of thing happens to some women.... i am scheduled for my ultrasound tomorrow and i will let you know what i find out. and thank you again for your experience and trying to put me at ease. :-)

hey there! well, things are good! :) i saw the baby's heartbeat when i went to the doctor. it was the most amazing thing! im just shy of 8 weeks and i have another appt. on the 30th. and finally the spotting stopped. the dr. thinks it was loose blood vessels from my placenta. i'm just thankful its over but i am still a little on edge. i am grateful to you for your thoughts and keeping me in your prayers. it worked! u are a wonderful person, to just be there and think about me and my problems, a complete stranger. u just dont know how much i appreciate that.

YEAH!!!! I am so happy for you!  Seeing your baby's heartbeat is an absolutely amazing experience!  Take it easy.....I would definitely recommend resting as much as possible.....if you can take a little time off of work and put yourself on bedrest for a week or so.  I know that my doctor just did it as a precauting at first and my mind was much more at ease knowing that I was resting and allowing my little one a good start.  After that when my bedrest was mandatory I hated it!  But in the end it was worth it!!  Good luck and let me know how the rest of your pregnancy goes!

hey! it was a wonderful experience. :) i cant wait for my next appt. these 3 weeks are going to DRAG by. i try to give myself more rest. sometimes i totally shut down and other times i have to remind myself of my condition. i have to say "hey, youre pregnant now, slow down and stop running around so much". lol. i was thinking of taking some time off but i want to save it till the end and give myself another week or so at home w/ the munchkin. u know, i have never experienced this kind of happiness before. its overwhelming. i will most definitely keep you posted! of course! :)

hey all , new to this forum  and needing some help . My hcg levels at 7weeks 4days (lmp)  were 12000 doc was concerned saying they needed to be at least 60000 , 2 days later i went for more blood work at 7 weeks 6 days levels did rise but only to 13390  anyone have the same experience? does this mean i am going to misscarry because they are not rising "normaly" or is it a good sign that they did rise a little.my levels were 14700 at 7 weeks 4days with last pregnancy and 42000 at 8 weeks with the same last pregnancy  should i be concerned?
