lump on ribgage

My daughter complained about a month ago that it hurt to breath and i discoved a knot on her lower left rib gage that you can see sticking out we went to the dr and was told it was a bruise or how her ribs are formed. She is 9 and now tonight i said let me check you knot she leaves for camp in the morning and the knot seems bigger and harder to me and her dad. I will worry while she is gone for a week but she will be going back to the dr first thinkg on her return and they will do x-ray.
