plueral thickening

I recently had a chest x-ray connected with an injury suffered from a fall and pleural thickening was indicated. I am scheduled for a CT scan soon and was curious about possible causes. I am a 54 yr. old male and have smoked for about 42 yrs. and also have most likely been exposed to asbestos as I have been in the building trades for more than 3 decades. I was wondering if this thickening could be a temporary result from the injury I sustained, possibly as a result of inflammation or irritation.
