I have had this happen to me I go sailing and have been thrown several times in Storms, Ribs seem to always be what I damaged, they hurt a lot but theres nothing you can do, I have found some relief in getting those back braces and wearing it as a support, as it hurts when you sneeze , Breathe or Bend, the Docs   cant do anything , they take time to heal, as he had Xrays they know it hasnt gone into a Lung, its just time and Painkillers I'm afraid.
