smelly brown discharge

I'm 53 yrs old, went to my gyn for a smelly brown discharge I have got for the past 4 months. A pap smear was done and came back normal, but the doc say my cervix is close. he did a cervical biopsy and I have not got the results yet until the 23 of this month. I have not gottten my period since 2007. I am still discharging. Can you tell me anything about this situation I am going through and why my cervix is close?
